Billionaire Bruce Wayne would definitely approve.

With Prince’s “Partyman” blaring through Forbidden Planet comic book store in New York City, lifestyle brand Emilie Heathe launched The Batman Nail Artist Trilogy on March 1—just ahead of the release of The Batman, the Warner Brothers and DC Comics movie starring Robert Pattinson.

The Batman Trilogy Collection Nail Artist Polish ($80) features three edgy, moody metallic limited-edition shades that embrace the protagonists’ heroic, vixenish and sinister spirits in the highly-anticipated new movie that critics have been hyping up as the best Batman movie since 2008’s “The Dark Knight.”

The first shade, The Dark Knight, is a shimmery, deep blue symbolic of Batman’s midnight crusade through Gotham City. The second, “The Madness,” is an homage to The Riddler—a chrome polish that flips from purple to green when reflected in the light and wears like a mood ring on the fingernails mirroring the villain’s lurid disguise. The third shade is Vengeance, an ultra-feminine red wine color that channels Catwoman. Manicures can be accented with a stickers (question mark, batwings and the Caped Crusader’s profile) that are part of the Knight Out Kit ($45).

With this nail decal set, each luxe nail polish shade can be enhanced with black, silver and gold. The kit also comes with three Batman-embellished crystal nail files in assorted hues, and of bat-shaped hair clips.

The Vengeance nail color by Emilie Heathe inspired by Catwoman for 2022's “The Batman.”

The Batman Trilogy Collection is what the brand calls a “superpowered” plant-based polish—a formulation enriched with bamboo extract, sea buckthorn oil, biotin and other key ingredients—that goes on smooth with long wear to support nail strength and health.

Each limited-edition collection box is enclosed with a certificate of authenticity in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC.

“We’re always looking to create shades that are not usual, that are very different from what’s there,” said Emilie Heathe CEO and Founder Emily H. Rudman, who was dressed in all black leather at the two-hour soiree.

Rudman said her childhood appreciation for visual art naturally translated into a love of beauty as she entered womanhood. Comic book artist Jim Lee, the penciller known for X-Men and current creative head of DC, was one of her favorite artists growing up. The nail polish collaboration, she says, is a dream come true, as her love of both industries comes full circle.

“I’ve been obsessed with comic books since I was a kid,” said Rudman. “I got into beauty because I was drawing comic books. I drew heroines. I read X-Men, Batman. My older sister was into makeup, and I saw doing makeup as another canvas. But it was always in me to do the collaboration because I really felt like with high-end makeup and luxury beauty, there was a place and a space for a consumer who loves that kind of stuff, but also loves comic books. It doesn’t have to be one or the other, you can love both beautiful things, and I wanted to do something that felt a little more elevated in an industry that I’m also a huge fan of.”

The Batman Trilogy Collection is available to shop at EmilieHeathe.com, and will soon be available on Nordstrom.com and Neimanmarcus.com.
